    Default Forest Hill Cemetary

Boy what a neglected vandalized mess it was. Grass covered graves, broken vases; toppled tomb stones; piles of flags and fake flowers under an untrimmed tree, which was the final resting place for an insect filled liquor bottle. The chapel-maintainence storage area was a mess, with a gaping hole on the wall facing the school, the door to the garage being ajar...one plot appeared to be completely covered except for a frame which must have had the occupants picture. Many of the stones facing Meyer had German names and epithets chiseled upon them. One white tombstone in particular had names and dates that were barely legible....its not a sprawling cemetary...didnt take long to explore.....

That it is back to back with a park doesn't seem good for it. How does the park look?

Unfortunately, cemeteries being abandoned or nearly so is not just an owned by the city of Detroit issue.

Even churches like to show their scumbag side and let it happen like at Bayside Acacia in Queens, NY - http://citynoise.org/article/8696 .

Vandalism at cemeteries anywhere is sadly all too common [[and not a new thing by any stretch of the imagination) and when violence against the living goes on, I imagine vandalism at a cemetery is low on the enforcement radar.
