Default For anyone interested in Kwame Kilpatrick's future.....

Interesting read in Crain's Detroit Business regarding Mr. Kilpatrick's prospects for earing money going forward:

The disgraced fomer mayor of Providence [[ and two-time felon) Buddy Cianci has had a good run as a talk show host on radio in Providence. What do you think Kilpatrick will try ?

Kilpatrick will land on his feet. Probably be a successful consultant.

KK does have some strengths one of which is that he is a gifted public speaker. Talk show host, motivational speaker, man of the cloth. He could have his own mega church. However I get the feeling that after he deals with these federal charges he won't have a need for an outside job.

KKs goin right back behind BarBars.

I honestly feel sorry for the man. Hes a child really, who got himself into a power that he couldnt fathom or relate to at his young age. Kid in a candystore comes to mind.

Whatever he does, I don't care as long as he is not involved in Detroit politics

He's going to a Federal Prison, what does it matter.

Jonothan Oosting of Mlive has weighed in on the subject:
    http://www.mlive.com/news/detroit/in...l_kwame_k.html

    Oosting makes this closing observation:
"At this point, Kilpatrick will have to consider pretty much any job offer he gets. But he won't be able to consider political office. His 2008 plea deal prohibits him from running until 2013, and a new Michigan law known as the "Kwame Amendment" bans him from holding office until 20 years after his conviction."
It should be noted that Ooosting is, at best, premature in this conclusion. No charge that Kilpatrick has pled guilty to, or been found guilty of, to date [[ i.e., not including the pending December 2010 indictment) would trigger the 20 year bar on holding public office in Michigan.[[ because not arising out of exercise of public duties, just garden variety perjury and obstruction of justice). So, if there is no conviction, or no guilty plea to the pending charges, Kilpatrick could run for Maor of COD in 2017 .

KING KWAME is not out of the woods, yet. He's have a federal trial coming up soon. If KING KWAME found guilty of 19 counts of fraud, he would spend up to 20 years in federal prison with no plea deals. He might get parolled to house arrest in 10 years.
