Default Ever Notice How Often This Phrase is Used?

The phrase, "a little bit", is most often used by those cooks/chefs on TV. As in - 'a little bit of salt, a little bit of butter, a little bit of olive oil, etc, etc etc. But I've also heard it from TV carpenters, mechanics, gardeners, home designers. Now that I'm so aware, it seems everyone is saying it all the time and way, way too much.

I thought the pronunciation was "lilla bit" due to the broken English I heard growing up. It only took me a lilla while to articulate the phrase correctly once I was more grown up.
