    Just saw where The man who hit the 2 run triple in game 7 has passed away. R.I. P.

    In 1968, Jim also became one of the few players to hit two grand slams in one game.

    Just saw the notice about Jim Northrup. Him, "Stormin' Norman", all those guys gave the city[[and
    mlb) a thrilling series that will be long remembered. I hope his passing is mentioned tonight on
    ESPN. Rest in peace Mr Northrup.

    1968 was a magical year for the Tigers. Considering the 1967 riots, they helped to curb tempers quite a bit at a time that it was sorely needed. Unfortunately, the City of Detroit had begun its death throes then, but no one realized it.

    Yeah, I know, "we're on the way back". But compared to pre-riot, the C of D has been buried.

    RIP Jimmy Northrup. You gave us thrills and happiness.
