    Those Buffalo-Pitts tractors were steam-powered and could be connected by belts to threshers and other types of farm equipment.

    Scroll down on this page to view a circa 1912 photo of a Buffalo-Pitts steam traction engine that was taken on a farm located near the SW corner of Mound and 11 Mile Roads in what was then Warren Twp.
