Wife previosuly had a '99 Grand Caravan but now drives an '08 Pilot & daughter has a used '01 Accord...two VERY tough pills for me to swallow. The bright side is my daughter is eyeing the Mustang or Challenger as her first new car purchase when she finishes college in a few years.

As a side note we employ Impalas for our fleet cars; excellent mileage & comfortable on long drives across the state.

You know the ones with the 2.3L that Ford turbocharged producing more horsepower than the V-8 of the same year while still managing to get around 25-30 MPG.

Why they stopped turbo charging baffles me...

2006 Saturn, which will be the last new car purchased by me, and many others who have had our jobs evaporated, at least in part, by NAFTA and so-called free [[not fair) trade.

“By the way, I just want to mention, I think I still have my Ford parked in Chicago,” Obama said. “It’s a Ford hybrid, it runs great, you guys should take a look.”

Izzyindetroit, from what I understand, turbochargers are very expensive, and the intricacy of the components means that they get damaged quite easily.

I drive a 2009 Mercury Mariner [[V6 AWD and averages 23-24 mph!) and am in the process of purchasing a 2010 Ford Fusion [[probably I-4 b/c of how much I drive).

Good car. I wish the new Malibu came in a Maxx version.

2008 Ford Fusion, but I had to recently trade with my mother [[2008 Civic) because the kids boosters fit better in the Civic, weird, I know. The fusion has a roomy back seat, but for some odd reason there isnt enough room for a kids booster seat[[the booster sits on top of the buckle). No problems with the civic, and the MPG is amazing. [[am i converted??)
