The school district tells us there's a walkout right now by students at the school--over the recent loss of an administrator.

Students at Detroit's Kettering High School walked out of class in protest Wednesday after learning their principal's contract may not be renewed.

The approximately 20 minute-long peaceful demonstration was said to be a show of support for the principal, Willie Howard. Tianna Brown, an eleventh grade student at Kettering, said, " We really don't want our principal to leave. She's a good principal."The students said there had been rumors that Kettering was among the schools being restructured, as part of the plan announced by Robert Bobb, Detroit Public School Emergency Financial Manager. School officials explained to the students that the actual affect on Kettering is not yet known. Brown added, "We think we're doing fine. We don't think that we're failures".
