I didn't see anything happening when I was down there today. I am sure it will start soon though.
I am not mad about it. The skyline will still look good. I figured they must have finalized something because they've recently seem to be clearing the caissons for the tower portion of the site.
They have a short video up on this project.

Seems as though you can no longer get passed the pay wall from clicking on the link directly from Google anymore :[[
Smell seemed worse than usual today to the point where people walking around had looks of disgust.
I think it may be a decent spot for that aquarium idea that was floating around a couple of years ago.
Was the Executive Plaza building the WTC you are talking about?
I wonder if something important happened to cause some activity? Is this something they would have done if this project as completely paused or not? [[Assuming they are soil testing)
Yes, I have most defiantly noticed the smell. I was thinking that they might have accidentally hit something, but its been like that for a little while now.
I couldn't find an existing thread on this. Any info on this project? I am assuming its been dead a while before I found this link?

Agreed.
I wonder if whoever wants this greyhound station also wants the Executive Plaza building across the street. Is this building listed anymore?
Looked like there was some activity at this site today. There were some orange barriers put up and Elizabeth St partially blocked off.
There was activity at this site today. When I drove by some of the barriers were gone. Maybe they are moving the barriers again?
Are they starting weekend work now? I drove by around noon today and the fence was open on the Woodward/Grand River corner. I couldn't see all the way down in to whole to see how many folks were...
Maybe the pedestal will get taller if it gets narrower. I'd imagine the need for office space is till there.
Also, it shows that the projected completion date for Monroe Blocks is 2022. Has the...
Mr. Gilbert, I hope you make a full recovery. Thanks for all your help on getting this city back on its feet.
Glad its going. How much of the smell driving on I-75 is from the incinerator vs the Marathon plant? Will the smell be gone completely or is most of the smell on I-75 due to the Marathon plant?
A real crazy thought and most likely wont happen, but imagine if Amazon completely bought Rivian and ended up placing some sort of automotive HQ here.
Mentions of height have been removed from the Monroe Blocks website.
I would have though they'd start from scratch with the foundation instead of using what is there already, especially for a +900 feet tower.
They're not.
Is construction really supposed to start on Sunday on the bridge towers?

I wonder if they are keep whatever presence they still have in Detroit. Back in 2015 they seemed to think that Detroit had enough talent although maybe not enough to support an HQ.
