It remains pathetic that LCA opened up with six Kid Rock shows.
Obviously great news. Handle Ford's PR and advertising and with the MCS renovation it makes sense.

Pretty sure that's - at least - the second delay of an announced start date. Original groundbreaking was announced as "summer". I'd be very skeptical of this project until we see movement.

We'll see. I try to be an optimist, but pretty much all those projects have had delays (some for very long periods of time). I'll believe most of them when workers are actually on site.
I wonder if they could use it for soccer + outdoor summer concert venue?
I'm of the belief that Ford Field is a terrible idea...so I support MLS' hesitancy. It would be a very stale soccer...
It's becoming pretty apparent that a recession is likely imminent. This has been and/or will be impacting investments not just in Detroit, but across the country.

Those look like go right up to the riverfront and there'd be no space between residential and office buildings. Guessing like Riverfront Towers, the "river walk" would possibly be just walking down...
Crossing my fingers. It's a very ambitious/incredible project I really hope happens, but I'm a little pessimistic. Any idea how the meetings went? Did they give a firm date for start of...
I honestly don't want it to be ridiculously tall and just tower over everything. It'll obviously generally do that, but keeping it to an appropriate height (not sure what that is) I think will look...
It's an apartment building, not a condo building. People aren't moving in as an investment.
It'll likely command high rent. If it's going to command a rate in the same area as Midtown/Downtown...
Who would want to live in the building if it becomes the only residential building in the area? It's an absolute dead zone during the day and at night there are games some nights...but that also is...
Yikes - that's steep. Vinton does have some well-known/wealthy tenants though. Arguably the "hottest" building right now.
Completely agree regarding Broderick. Top of mind the only recent...
Workers are on-site at the Freep building every day. Just last week they installed the HVAC system on the roof. Seems like it is taking forever, but they are continuously plugging along.
Area is such a mess. Whether I'm with local friends or entertaining out-of-towners, I rarely bother to go to Greektown anymore...especially later in the evening. It's not even all that neat of...
Interesting note is they'd possibly partner with the Pistons and the Pistons would likely move their G League team from Grand Rapids to Detroit. Corner of Warren/Trumbull.

I prefer that location for a few condo or apartment buildings.
It's just disconnected from downtown. If that were a large hotel...visitors would stay there, walk to Cobo, and never see actual...
Whoa - that's impressive and looks great. Exciting times we live in.
Hate to say it, but you are likely out of luck. I walked away from my deal while under contract. Your realtor should have let you know. To be fair, my realtor was clueless (first time he'd worked...
Yeah, not really sure why he's so upset about this...
Chemical/TCF it is! If their merger is approved it'll be named "TCF Center".
Good move. 22 year deal at $1.5 million per. More financial stability and getting Cobo's name off the front. ...
That wouldn't be remotely "lame". It's been needed for decades.
Or Aretha...or Dingell involved? John Dingell Convention Center presented by Chemical Bank?
I'm way too intrigued by this and we'll know the answer in half an hour haha.
Does seem weird that Whitmer would be there if it is corporate naming rights...unless maybe Pure Michigan/MEDC is involved in the new name?
