Looks like a decent deal for Moosejaw. They keep their online stores and physical stores separate, plus some additional marketing spend. We'll see how hands-off Walmart can remain, but this isn't like they are getting bought out and rebranded.
Remember when Sears took over Lands End? Their merchandise turned to cr@p.
I won't be shopping at Moose Jaw anymore. Since its Walmart owned.
That is not an accurate comparison. Sears Holdings [[together with the soon-to-shutter Kmart division) has not in any way been a successful retailer for going on 2 decades. Walmart, love them or hate, knows how to run a business. Walmart is running a race to win; Sears is trying to avoid death by an additional day or two.
Oh, and hey, Walmart will finally have a store in the city! If only they would buy out the Cheesecake Factory.

I bought my first backpack from Moosejaw when they opened their first storefront store in a rundown little strip mall on Orchard Lake Road; it was a Camp Trails and they met Campmor's price. It has a quirky culture that has served it well.
I'll continue to shop there. [[I belong to REI but like MJ's customer service better. MJ's salespeople are very knowlegable and they'll order something for you of they don't have it in stock or don't carry the item.)
Maybe I'll stop in. I plan on climbing Mt. Elliot and kayaking Grand River.
