Former Kilpatrick lawyer Samuel McCargo hit with suspension

Samuel McCargo will be suspended for 179 days because of misconduct in the Kwame Kilpatrick text-message scandal, the Michigan Attorney Discipline Board announced today.

The suspension usually does not take place until all appeals are exhausted and the matter could ultimately go to the Michigan Supreme Court.

The board also assessed costs of $36,554.97.

McCargo represented then Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, who later pleaded guilty to perjury-related charges and is now serving 18 months to five years for probation violation in that case.

My only question in this whole Kwame saga is this: did Kwame foresee his downfall, or did all of this blindside him?

It has always seemed to me that he was like a kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Denial and then a look of chagrin. Like a kid, he's only sorry he got caught.
No remorse for what he did, just stubbornness and trash talk for folks who put him behind bars.:cool:
