"A Night at the Aquarium" fundraising event is [[tomorrow!) on July 25, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
This event is sponsored by Friends of Belle Isle Aquarium, a 501[[c)3 nonprofit organization with the support of the City of Detroit Recreation Department.
The event is designed to kick off an aggressive and creative revenue-building campaign to renovate and reopen the Belle Isle Aquarium for the enjoyment of all.
Proceeds raised will partner with a $40,000 grant recently awarded for the renovation of the aquarium roof. Our goal is to match that grant and with your help, we believe we can.
The Belle Isle Aquarium is located in Belle Isle Park adjacent to the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory. Belle Isle Park is located off Jefferson Avenue, approximately one mile east of the Renaissance Center in Detroit. The park is accessed via the Belle Isle/MacArthur Bridge. Secured parking immediately adjacent to the Aquarium is free. Summer casual attire is welcome and your tickets will be waiting at the door. We have many wonderful items in our silent auction. Bidding will close at 9:30 p.m. We request that winners be present to pick up and pay for their items. Other fantastic surprises await you!
