Detroit Drone
New technology breeds new ideas breed new businesses. So it appears with Detroit Drone who is taking advantage of the wedding of drone quad-copters and the GoPro camera to offer local area photography. They have posted some rather tastefully done demo pieces on YouTube such as the following of Packard.

and this one with drift cars in front of the Michigan Central Depot.

Nice. The parallax adds a lot more depth information that's usually missing from static photos.
I hope they don't hit any snags like Amazon did with their drone package delivery idea.

Nice find Lowell. Thanks for posting.

I have been reading up on drones or quadcopters and you can get something like a DJI phantom with a camera for $1100.

We have drones at work. They are very effective for getting video from a excellent vantage point and way less expensive then helicopters. Contracting out this work would have been a no brainier because it's not our core business. If the useless crap on the hill could get a majority to blow out a match the FAA would have the rules and regs to get this technology commercially viable. Instead all of our drones are operated by "hobbiest".
