I assume the thieves didn't know who owned the vehicle. The story would be more interesting if they did.

This could be something random, or this could be someone who's trying to make a point.
It was purley random. I lived in that building for a couple of years. Several cars had their rims stolen while I was there.
Pretty sad considering there is a 24 hour door man and security on the front gate.
Looks like my tax dollars being spent on his security detail are really paying off.
