Skills and work ethic aside, when a guy is drafted #2 with all the hype that he came with and then relegated to the end of the bench and becomes an immediate afterthought, that's going to mess with your head. Especially a kid that young. I'm not saying that if he'd been treated differently that things would have worked out better, but Larry Brown did him absolutely no favors. I don't think that Darko would have ever lived up to his draft position regardless, but I think with a coach that would have spent time developing him, he could have been more than he was.
I loved Larry Brown and that he brought this team a championship, but at the same time, I hope that Casey realizes that when you get a developmental guy, you have to spend time actually developing him if you expect him to contribute.
