New restaurant from Selden Standard team

Going to be a Mediterranean restaurant in New Center at the old Payless. The article is short on details but it does state that the building was originally a theater. Does anyone know what theater it was?

The facade was chopped off when Woodward Avenue was widened in the 1930's.

Woodward north of Forest was wider than the stretch from downtown [[Adams) to Forest...the east side of Woodward suffered most of the alterations during the WPA project of the 1930's. The area at The Grand Boulevard did not suffer similar alterations.

it won't be. and why should it? whatever they do will likely be good, but if you want "authentic", there are other places and Dearborn isn't far.

^^^Yeah, what was I thinking and I've eaten authentic middle-east food in Dearborn many, many times. Sorta hard to come back from that to the average and below! Like purchasing Hummus at Kroger. Uhh, not!

Please take note of the building facades on the west side of Woodward compared to the building facades on the east side of Woodward, on the 1 to 2 blocks of Woodward south of Grand Boulevard. In general, the west side facades are much blander and have no ornamentation. Google Maps Link below:

In addition, the photo in the below link [[2/3rds down the page) clearly shows that Woodward is now 3 to 4 lanes wider than it was, and the buildings on the west side of the street were all older, ornate buildings.

I don't know. The widths of Woodward look pretty similar in each of the pictures to me. There are at least 7 lanes in the old picture compared to the 9 now and the sidewalks appear to have been wider back then.
