Location: Belle Isle on Inselruhe Drive at
the Old Police Station.

There will be a display at "Shiver on the River"Attachment 35029 this Saturday.

First call letters of the DPD station, now KQA 414, were "KOP". True.

It was KQA414 till they moved to the 800Mhz trunked system.
Call letters are now sent electronically.

The old dispatchers said "If I had a nickel for every time I said KQA414, I would be a rich man.

Detroit started broadcasting call signs every 15 minutes so field units knew their radios were still functioning. It became an FCC rule.

Thank god we still have a spry historian from the DPD, mid 20th century, that did Harley and Indian.

I heard lots of good stuff on the old system .
