hello,
a relative is in the hospital with CV19. In a few days she will be released and needs a "sanctuary" type place to stay. She's in her 40s.
She doesn't have a home that she owns, and she doesn't have a rental. She was in a group home. I don't have much info. Anyway, when she's released is there housing service she can get where she doesn't have to be around people. Maybe a motel? If you know of services that help patients, let me know.

help. Prayers for the recovery of your relative.
My place is the kitty group home lol :) if that's the right place
for your relative...probably not...hope she recovers completely.
What is the Kitty Group Home? Does Detroit have "recovery" hotels. We do in Chicago.
I don't know of any "recovery" hotels in the Detroit area.
Organizations who work with homeless people did find hotels
that would temporarily house some homeless during the
pandemic but I don't know any particulars as to which
hotels do serve as "recovery" hotels. You could maybe
bring your relative to stay in one of the Chicago hotels?
I have a dozen neighborhood cats that live with me. Though
I get some help from neighbors if I have to stay late at work
or something, cat care chores have to be done every day.
My roommate should not only love cats, they would have
to be comfortable doing cat chores every day to the extent
that they could do them. Besides cat issues, what's
probably a dealbreaker is having to share the one
bathroom. The time I advertised on the roommates
website it was the main sticking point. People really
prefer their own private bathroom and I don't have that.
So I was mostly not serious :) though PM if it is of
interest, seriously.
At the time of the Great Recession, metro Detroiters were
mostly underwater on their mortgages with few buyers that
were able to obtain mortgages. At the same time many were
evicted from their homes that they could no longer afford.
So then many area realtors were, as a necessary part of their
business portfolio, assisting with renting out houses or condos
that they normally would be selling.
Detroit especially is a place that benefits from having more
people in the rental and real estate markets. In general there's
a somewhat high vacancy level probably for hotels and motels
right now due to the pandemic.
Hospitals have social workers who would be able to provide some
guidance on where patients could stay after being released.
Dumpling... there are some shady realtors out there that didn't care for helping anyone, except lining their own pockets.
Some realtors held monthly banquet meetings for "monied" investors who can get houses on the cheap, by having realtors showing the monthly Sheriff sales of homes that the realtor can bid on for their deep pocketed friends to buy... and giving the realtor a "kickback" on the price.
This is how Fox opinion host Sean Hannity purchased 819 distressed homes, back many years ago. Sorry to thread jack... I should probably start another thread on this subject.
No Gistok, you're right, everyone has to look out a little bit for the
shady stuff. You can check various real estate selling websites
though, and see each detail of each realtor's sales over the last
several years, and then figure out which realtors are better for
what you need.
