Yes, domestic terrorism should be addressed but needs to be addressed somewhat in proportion to its relevance.
Hundreds of billions have been spent to militarize our nation against a terrorism threat that barely exists.
From the OP article,

By contrast, right-wing extremists have committed at least eight lethal terrorist attacks in the United States that have resulted in the deaths of nine people since 9/11, according to data compiled by the New America Foundation."Meanwhile, 212 people have been murdered in Detroit alone this year and 90 American die in traffic deaths on an average day.
That works out to an average of deaths per day:
domestic jihadist terrorism since 9/11 = .004
domestic right wing terrorism since 9/11 = .002
homicides in Detroit [[2012) = .390
traffic fatalities in US [[2011) = 90
An American is 45,000 times as likely to be a victim of an auto accident than a right wing terrorist.
