Detroit businesses that had to close because they lost their building

Hi everyone,

Along with a coworker of mine, I'm trying to launch a project that would help connect Detroit small business owners with spaces in need of rehab, and help them raise the funds to make those spaces suitable to house their business. We would especially love to find a business that used to have a space, was beloved by their community, but unfortunately lost it to the bad economy.

I'd like to get a sense from the forum if there's a business or two that people remember fondly and were really sad to see go, to see if we can find them and try to help them come back.

Does anyone have any that spring to mind?
