Mike Brkovich Before The Border Craziness

Just finished listening to a very interesting interview with this guy here on The Fan radio station in Toronto. Mike played with Magic Johnson on the 79 Spartans team that defeated Bird & Co. to win the NCAA title. Asked how he ended up at Mich. State he said when he was about 14 or 15 Detroit kids used to come over on the tunnel bus and play in his neighborhood. They invited him back to some Detroit Community Centers and eventually he made some contacts and got recruited. Sadly, as we know, that story couldn't be repeated today.
