Time for a Con Con?

"...When you go to the ballot box in November 2010, you face choice of whether to open up the constitution to a statewide convention of locally elected delegates. How will you vote?"
If the Chamber of Commerce opposes it, I'm inclined to be for it.

I'm going to vote no.
Have you seen how Lansing operates?
Now, take the same party hacks from "both" political parties haggling for weeks on end, throw the entire Michigan Constitution open for review and hope for the best in the end.
This will be a gross waste of time, money and effort that will produce no meaningful results.
Besides, if we want to amend the Michigan Constitution, there already is an amendment process currently in place that can be used at ANY time.
Anything can be changed right now, without the need for a con-con.
