Bring Dabble to Detroit!
The website Dabble operates in Austin, Chicago, Denver, Milwaukee, SF, St Louis, and Minneapolis/St Paul.
If you aren't familiar with Dabble, basically it's a service connecting people who want to learn something with people who can teach it.

I'll be heading to the Intro to Welding class in Chicago this weekend.

This would be fantastic to have in Detroit. I often flirt with the idea of taking classes but I typically don't have the time. Dabble seems to be a cool solution.
Point is, there is a request page to suggest bringing the service to other cities. I already recommended Detroit, and if you're into it, you should, too.

There is no doubt in my mind that there are plenty of folks in Detroit with interesting things to teach. And I want to learn them!

This is a good idea. I think it could make a big impact on Detroit if it and other programs like it came here.

Anyone interested in this might also be interested in MIT's free OpenCourseWare project.
It contains videos of actual MIT lectures and much more.

Looks like it's here. Sort of.
They're looking for instructors. Do it up, folks, I want to take some classes.
