Anybody know the location of Haynes Avenue/Street probably in the 1930's of 1940's? I've Googled it as in Highland Park, Hamtramck and Detroit with no luck.
The location was rubber stamped in a book on automotive technology from about the 30's, a service station that was owned by an extended family member's great grandparents.
We found the address and Google Streetviewed the home address. It is a parking lot today from what we saw, Tuscola Street.
Any help would be appreciated.

My mother grew up in that area, at Brooklyn and Perry and then Hamilton and Ferry [[approximately where the Wayne football field is now).
In the early 1950s, the Lodge Freeway and the western portion of the Jefferies housing project were built where Haynes and Hamilton were. The Jefferies project has mostly been torn down now, which is why you see empty space there on the Streetview. The remaining towers have been renovated as seniors housing, and the rest is being replaced by the Woodbridge Estates low-rise housing, some of which you can also see in the background of the Streetview.
The street directly to the south sure has gone through some name changes. It's been Stimson, Myrtle, and MLK in my lifetime.
