Detroit Tigers named Major League Baseball's retailer of the year

Lots of people sporting the D. I wonder how much of this was fuel by other factors, like the Chrysler Eminem ad and the overall upbeat profile of Detroit by the wider media?

Thanks to a playoff run, the Detroit Tigers' retail sales grew 26 percent this season over 2010, earning the team the 2011 "Club Retailer of the Year" by Major League Baseball Properties.

The honor, awarded since 2005, is based on a combination of hard sales data, vendor and customer feedback and creative marketing and merchandising efforts, according to a statement today from MLB Properties.
