I contacted them last year and they said they would get back and never did. I'm looking at a specific block that has vacant land and homes except for one. Who in the City would I contact to get a "detroit plan" or a "map" that would show me what neighborhoods on the east side are being zoned for development; or if not development, for total demolition?
IGNORE THIS ^^ I FOUND THE planning dept online and contacted them.
It's a research time consuming venture,so it is up to the individual to compile thier own file,it is like that anywhere.

You really have to compile as much as you can on the internet then use a follow up with personal visits to the particular city offices,keeping in mind 1 out of 3 will actually care enough to help,you have to find that one.
Even at that you have to understand that no matter what is said,unless it is in writing,it is subject to change daily depending on who you speak to,once again it is not just a Detroit thing,it is like that anywhere.
This one is kinda interesting,the master plan map from 2004 which shows where they thought the city was going.
