Fuel: Detroit Conference
Well, good luck to everyone attending. But at the prices these "FUEL" people are charging: $495, or $895 for "VIP Status"-- good lord, exactly what all is going to be going on here? Just brief pep talks from celebrities who have already "made it"? Maybe a Rolex raffle? It seems to me that if you can casually afford a ticket, your career is already substantively stable. A pick-me-up conference for people already in the C-Suite, bravo. I wonder if there were any "scholarship" tickets made available to anyone-- nah, probably not. For whatever it's worth, you can probably find any of these speakers giving the same speech on YouTube. I'll pass.

Just as bad are these "An Evening With..." concerts/events at casinos. The celebrity sits on stage and tells a few stories about his/her career. It started with 'A' listers like Al Pacino and now even 'B' listers are getting in on the scam. It used to be you had to at least sing or tell jokes to cash in.
