Steven Henderson hosts a wonderful radio show.
On that show he mentioned WARREN has the
highest number of court evictions in the state.
I'm guessing that people who wanted to move out of Detroit
simply cannot based on the jobs, income, rent, etc.
Moving up past 8 Mile involves paying bills on time.
Once evicted, by court order, it follows them around
in future housing decisions for a long time
Is there a source for the datum about evictions in Warren?

I had a tennant in my Warren rental house strategically stop paying to ride it out for as long ad he could. Asshole!
Evictions go along with the poverty cycle in Detroit
Of course we won't get the ""perspective"" of the ones evicted,
they are too poor to afford internet access and a home computer.

The homeless guy who begs for money on the corner has a cell phone somehow!
Unemployment is very low and everyone is hiring. Unless there is some kind of physical or mental issue, it's hard to believe that they're trying to be employed and productive. I also REFUSE to give "food" money to a person who is smoking or drinking\drunk. Clearly they haven't hit rock bottom yet if they're still spending money on stupid things.Quote:

Ok, O3H. How do you propose we alleviate housing insecurity among the working poor?
My guess would be people not prioritizing their spending and also people getting into higher rent payments than what they can afford. Or in the case of my rental property, a person that has figured that they're not getting their security deposit so they stop paying rent and make you evict them so they can live for free until the system boots them out.Quote:

I would also be for providing the first two years of college for free.
People taking advantage of free college and family planning should have much lower rates of evictions than people that don't.
My take on society:
If you need a drivers license to drive a car, then you should insist on every potential parent to take a serious, hardcore , tough as nails, no bullshit course. Want a kid, pass the class, prove you can be be a parent.
Basically a revocable social contract with the rest of society.
-Pump out kids anyway, cut the financial support, yank the kids away.
Force both parents to serious labor camp, somewhere.
Let them dwell upon that choice to create a kid out of - fun - .
No mercy, improve society for all. Personal responsibility reigns supreme.
Freedom in a democracy allows people to make choices.
Any idiot can have a kid nowadays, and it has real repercussions.

I should not pay 1 cent because 2 people fucked around and made a kid, they didn't want, didn't expect and damn sure cannot pay for.
Labor penalties need to be very harsh, force people to think first, before they whip it out for that momentary pleasure. Be responsible, or else.

Quite the "shoot from the hip" response. What's interesting is, the actual average age for being a first time mother is at an all time high. Yet and still all these irresponsible parents. A major contributor to that problem is the fact that the economy has changed. If you didn't happen to be fortunate enough to go to college it is very difficult to afford to be a parent. The changing business model of our economy has a disproportionately high number of people working low wage service jobs or part time "gig economy" positions.Quote:
