Detroit Youth Day Attempts Island Siege

Wow, there was considerably more traffic on Belle Isle this morning...and I got two-thirds of the way around the island before all traffic was STOPPED on the main road by security asking EVERY car if they had credentials for 'the event'.


I told one worker bee that they couldn't close the whole damn park without some form of endorsement...especially a city road!


They let me by...so I could sit and plan my day along with some of the most amazing people in the city [[they don't do it WITH me, but are usually inspiring background)...but I daresay I would've gone a bit postal if they didn't.


I was dismayed to see the largest and most obvious presence was the National Guard recruitment office...keep your paws OFF Detroit's kids, Military/Industrial complex!
