Pirates Attacking Detroit? Arrrrgh!

Spotted out on the Detroit River [[around 10am). It reminds me of that old Peter Sellers film "The Mouse That Roared" when a tiny struggling country in Europe decides to repair it's ailing economy by attacking the United States - then surrender and the U.S. will give them millions of dollars in financial aid. They land in a small pirate ship in New York's harbor during an air raid [[this was in the 60's) and they have nobody to surrender to... so... they decide to take over the United States - and they win!:eek:

Maybe they'll release the Kracken and it'll pull down Matted Moron's half-finished bridge to nowhere!:eek:

Any idea what the boat's name is and where it's going?

Reminds me of that giant [[with the pirate ship as his hat) in Time Bandits...:D

For a minute, I thought the Somali pirates were branching out!

'Twas the Nina and Santa Clara, reproductions of two of Columbus' ships from his 1492 expedition. En route to the new world of Algonac, MI. Saw them this morning from Diamond Jack's River Tours. Not sure why they were going there or where they hail from.

Classic Wood Boat Show at Algonac Harbour Club Marina this weekend. Gotta love Google.

that ship must be powered by tinkerbell or may some more moderne con-venience machinery for it to be going up stream like that without oars or sails.

It reminds me of the end of "The Goonies". Hey, didn't GM just go on an exciting adventure that threatened their lives where evil people were after them so they could gain a treasure, but in the end, they got the windfall treasure and got to keep their home as seen in the foreground?
