^^^Are logic classes still taught on earth? Ain't that too western? Eh-er, umm, Aristotelian?
I mean in college isn't everything subjective, post-modern and based on how one feels? [[smile).

I love the northern Michigan mentality: In April, Whitmer is a Nazi for not letting people travel "up north". Yet same people [[up north) claim they don't want people "from Detroit" coming up there. In May, yard signs appear thanking local sheriffs for "protecting their rights" to not have to wear a mask. June and July, people exercise those rights and now they get what they wanted - and deserve:

At a time when the U.S. is setting records for new cases and the death count is spiking, the Trump Administration wants to slash funding to the CDC and the NIH and cut [[or eliminate) funding for COVID testing.

If you don't test, then poof, the virus goes away like magic.
We have free testing everyday of the week,go online make an appointment, then drive through, results can take up to 3 weeks.
Free masks also.
Maybe that is why our numbers are high, because of the percentage of the population getting tested, everybody proably has it and just does not know it yet.
^^^ Um, many have tested but, not all testing COVID Positive.
It varies from community to community, city, state, risk factors etc.
You can go to most any urgent care in the country and get a test. It's been that way since mid March.
They won't let you inside of course,.. so you'll have to park between some orange cones in the parking lot,... then call them on your phone and tell them about any symptoms you might have. Then they'll send a nurse out in full battle garb to test your O2 level, take your temp and then do a swab.
Back in late March it was taking 7-12 days to get a test back,.. but by mid April it was only 4 days. I don't know what it's down to now. Probably 2-4 days.
If you have insurance,.. they'll get the number from you and the govt will reimburse them. If not [[and you're willing to give out your Soc Sec number),.. they'll still get reimbursed,. or if you're like me and you don't give out sensitive info,.. you can just pay cash. Mine were $140 each if I remember right.
But you'll still need to give them a name, addy and phone. A month later you'll get a couple of calls from HHS asking if you're still alive, and for a list of any contacts you may have had.
I'm guessing you''re in the North End area? Not a lot of anything near there.
There's Premier in that area, but they only do Covid testing at their Dearborn office at 9550 Dix [[313) 843-6375
Or there's the State Fair Grounds. Go to your primary doctor [[or an urgent care if you don't have one),.. they'll write a prescription for you to get a test,.. then just drive to the State Fair Grounds to get swabbed.
A M Medical center at 13031 Conant can do that for you. Their number is [[313) 893-5490. But you can just walk in. Their hours seem to be 9-8. https://doctor.webmd.com/practice/a-...3eb44-overview
Everyone gets a test who wants one, right?

Why don't I qualify for testing?
Because of limited supplies and in accordance with CDC guidelines, testing is limited to certain patients.
I googled COVID Testing Sites Detroit Area and came up with this:
[[Put in your zip for results)

[[Self test if you can stand the idea of that)

[[Pre-surgery etc list)

I think it's still hard to find test ala criteria and back-logging.
Some employers [[hospital and clinics of course) like nursing homes or assisted living residents contract their own people to test their staff. Less red tape as employees must be tested. Otherwise you are on your own...
I think it's harder to find a place in Detroit because of the State Fair site. Because of that,.. local clinics and Urgent care places are just issuing the script.
Outside detroit, Urgent care places are doing them.
I had no issue at all when I went the end of March [[and a second time in mid April). I went to an urgent care I had used in the past that's outside of Detroit proper.
I called them, drove up and got tested. I was there for less than 10 min. Never got out of my car.
We had three people in my place of employment who needed tests and 2 had to sit in line forever to get one and then the results took 14 days to come back. The other one had to wait 2 days for an appointment and hers took a week.
This is not easy testing for all who want it. IF you can get a test, you could be dead by the time you get the results.

Yep. I hear that JC. It's all over the place. I was informed of of someone who tested at the Detroit Fairgrounds site - was as told to pull over in the lot and got results in half an hour. An obvious, stupid lie.
Legitimate persons [[who test to retain jobs) I know were two to three days after per onsite companies [[medical and nursing care jobs sites). One friends came back inconclusive [[very annoying). The next time negative. One friend never took the test until she was well along sick and then it was positive. Then later negative weeks after she recovered at home.
Well OK, we finally acknowledge we have a 'bit' of problem... [[and a tad of leadership - not that I was waiting).
Hopefully not followed up by a splattering of contradicting twitter comments tonight!
BREAKING NEWS: Donald Trump admits coronavirus 'will get worse before it will get better' as he tells people to wear a mask and stay out of bars....
What exactly are we looking for with leadership and what experts are they supposed to believe in order to lead with?
It changes from day to day, expert advice given today means nothing tomorrow.
So if an expert tells Trump something today and he repeats it and it is proven wrong two days later, people are up in arms saying see,I told you so he knows nothing,he was wrong.
The daily mail link repeated several times that the virus update was stopped after Trump suggested people inject themselves with bleach.
You saw what happened,he never suggested people inject themselves with bleach but yet everybody twisted his words and keep repeating the lie.
That is all he needs to do,5 miniutes saying it is here, the experts do not know squat about it and everything they recommend will change within days.
His one and only job right now is keeping and eye on and countering our debt ratio.
If we do not go back to work with the economy the virus will be the least of our worries,as of now 5 countries are over 130% of their debt to production ratio,it hits 200 and they will go the route of default that makes the real estate crash look like child’s play.
We will be in a depression double of the 1929 crash.
Top it off with the violence going on with the Democratic Party endorsing it,not only will people have no job, food, power or housing they will be preyed on.
We could move to Zimbabwe where they have a outbreak of Aids, corona virus,Ebola and starvation all at the same time and people are down to one meal a day.
But really what is Trump supposed to do for leadership?
Snap his fingers and it goes away?
Snap his fingers and a cure appears?
Snap his fingers and nobody dies?
Snap his fingers and testing becomes accurate and timely?
None of those things that everybody is demanding in leadership is obtainable from anybody in the world,if it was we would not be where we are at.
Maybe people are looking for a daily cheerleader, somebody that stands up there making promises that there is no way in hell that they will ever fulfill.
Look around at what is happening, outside the news and the mask Nazis would feel only those who they oppose should be wearing masks,no body cares about the rona virus anymore.
Now is the Bernie bro’s revolution and it is time for a revolution not viruses.
Saying banning large gatherings by mentioning bars also included churches, funerals etc but excludes protests and the burning of cities.
The protestors can exercise their rights, the marxists can exercise their rights under US blanket, the looters and burners and statue destroyers can exercise their rights.
But the regular law abiding citizens need to be wearing masks and locked down for their own good, opps sorry,in order to prevent the spread.
What is wrong with that picture where millions of Americans have to give up their rights so others can exercise theirs with impunity?
Trump may get up there to appease the masses but at the end of the day the virus is running its course, the miscreants are running theirs, the protesters are running theirs,BLM is running theirs.
Nothing is going to alter any of the above so what is the stress about a cheerleader in the Whitehouse when every thing he says or does will be twisted in ones mind or the media or the Democratic leaders that are orgasmatic with fueling the flames of unrest, simply to un-seat somebody they do not like at,as we see,any cost.
People are not looking for leadership out of the whitehouse, they are looking for ammunition to use against the whitehouse.
It depends on what lab it is sent to and how backed up they are, then there are reports of testing labs that have no business even testing.
Then it is like what was discussed before with the roadside drug tests that were discovered as 90% incorrect results.
People everyday are reporting tested positive but then 1 week later negative,I do not think anybody knows the accuracy of the testing process and we are making decisions that effect hundreds of millions of people’s lives.
We do not even know how accurate the surging case numbers are even accurate, half of them show zero symptoms but are treated like the plague.
We can go get a free test anytime we want, nothing is required but a drivers license but you have to sign up online.
Like the demand for virtual schooling, not everybody has a computer or can afford internet to sign up or partake in,a good 50% of the population will probably never be tested so we will never know the full impact.
The only thing we know is,the more tested, the more positive results occur, given the circumstances we cannot even tell if it is actually spreading verses how many actually had it from the beginning or even traces of it.
I had an acquaintance, not exactly in the best of health from the start, tells me 1 week ago he was having chest pains,I told him, call 911 now,he says let me wait a few days, ambulance picks him up and he is dead before he gets to the hospital 5 miles away of a heart attack.
So they tested him,the same day with same day results and determined he died from the virus.
He tested negative a week ago,had zero symptoms.
He had a gyro takeout,250 pounds overweight,50 years old, worked 18 hours a day,got zero exercise, ate junk food from 7 am until he went to bed,by all rights he should have had a heart attack years ago.
But it was the rona virus.
Like Zach wrote,we are on our own,as they say govern accordingly and do what you feel is in your best interests.
Nobody can change that unless they are God,if you believe in that.
Then there are people that actually use for the logic argument, there is no logic in none of this.
The U.S. hits another grim milestone today: 4 million confirmed cases.
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/
The reported death toll for the last 24 hours was 1,106. That's the highest single-day death toll since June 2 and the first day in the last six weeks that we crossed the 1000 mark for deaths in a day.
We're moving in the wrong direction.
^ nice try at spreading panic.
It is referred to as REPORTED deaths, they may have occurred up to 30 days ago and are now just getting into the system.
Why when you already know that,do you constantly refer to the deaths as if they happened on that day.
No way in the world somebody is running around with a clipboard and logging deaths to be announced by 5 pm that happened that day.
This is what the Trump-appointed head of FEMA is saying NOW. In late July.
FEMA head: 'We have a ways to go' on having enough PPE

Quote:
The head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency [[FEMA) told Congress on Wednesday the country has “a ways to go” on getting enough protective equipment for health workers fighting coronavirus, though he said the situation has been improving.
“I want to be clear: We have a ways to go on making sure we have enough PPE,” Administrator Pete Gaynor said at a congressional hearing, referring to personal protective equipment. “This is not as simple as just throwing a light switch and we just magically make more.”
Hospitals and doctors have been reporting shortages of masks, gowns and other protective equipment for months as the pandemic rages.
1,212 deaths reported today. That's the highest single day national death count since May 29.
Texas led the way today, SHATTERING their single-day death count record with 218 reported deaths. That's the highest daily death count of any state in the country since New Jersey recorded 233 deaths all the way back on May 15, over two months ago.
All the progress we made as a nation is being erased, we're already back in May numbers and if things continue to get worse, the numbers will be back to what they were in April.
