Someone mentioned Rich Del Grosso, good guy, appeared along with his wife Maureen on WDET many times in the 80's on Judy Donlin's wonderful folk program. Sad side note, Maureen passed several years ago. Her father was Leo Osebold, a now-forgotten brilliant tenor man from Detroit's turbulent 40's...

My wife and I [[41 year anniversary today) first saw Phil and the Chalk Circle at the Poison Apple on Jefferson in 1967[[?). We saw him many times since then, at the Raven [[Southfield), Livonia, West Bloomfield, Detroit and last, at O'Maras in Berkley a couple of years ago. Phil was in the Air Force in the early 60s and started club singing there, when Joni Mitchell and others, were just starting out.

Bob, are you talking about Phillip Marcus Esser? If you'd like to know what he's up to, try calling Joe Cool's in Birmingham and asking for Dave, the owner. Dave is friends with Phil. I used to go to the Poison Apple occasionally. It was within walking distance of the Gar Wood mansion. My best memory of the Apple was seeing an unknown folk/country singer there about late 60's - Kris Kristofferson. I had to bribe a few friends to go to see this unknown guy. We went on our motorcycles and they almost didn't let us in because we were so scruffy.
