Ford Center Development
Found what I assume to be an old proposal adjacent to Ford Field. I have no idea who or when it is from. Quite clearly part of the glut of urban renaissance faux downtown developments to lure in the suburban folk proposed pre-recession.
I wonder what would have been torn down to create this? It's difficult to locate based on the existing vs proposed street grid.
"The Ford Center development includes 200,000 square feet of office space, 140,00 square feet of hospitality space and 25,000 square feet of retail space integrated as part of the Ford Field Complex in downtown Detroit, MI."

yikes. looks like that is gratiot and the empty lots just north of it.
-
I'm gonna say that is Gratiot & Madison. And that's the Penobscot Building you see in the upper left corner background.

Yes... that is Gratiot to the left... and what looks like a Madison Ave. pedestrian zone [[no longer a street) to the right. The triangle of land between them is currently mostly empty. To the left are some buildings where the City Jail [[with barbed wire) is located today.

Is this current or real? I will take this over surface parking lots that plaques the area now.
