FDNC (FREE Detroit — NO Consent) works to sanction City Council

There are many sides to political arguments. Here's one from the always confrontational pages of the Michigan Citizen.

The lines of democracy and rules of law vs. the rules of finance and bottom-line capitalism are being drawn as the sides line up on this issue. We hear mostly about the latter position, but the positions and tactics of the opposition are still formulating.

Enter the FDNC whose message seems to be:

If the consent agreement is allowed, then the rule of law has to been violated and we are going after the law-breakers.

A broad-based community group, FREE Detroit — NO Consent [[FDNC), wrote a letter June 5, commending Crittendon.

The FDNC letter asks Crittendon to begin forfeiture proceedings against Council members Charles Pugh, Gary Brown, Saunteel Jenkins, Ken Cockrel, Jr., James Tate and Andre Spivey, as well as Mayor Bing, Deputy Mayor Kirk Lewis and COO Chris Brown.

“They violated their oath of office by passing a budget based on an illegal agreement,” Broughton said. “Furthermore, the City Charter does not authorize them to enter into an agreement that transfers their duties to another entity.”

FDNC’s letter also urges the Detroit Board of Ethics to investigate the seven elected officials and two appointees, initiate forfeiture proceedings and take all necessary and sanctioned action including but not limited to judicial prosecution against them.

“We are mobilizing the citizens of our city to end this lawlessness on the part of elected officials,” FDNC member Sandra Hines said.

Lowell, you should google Sandra Hines to see just how nuts she is. She is everywhere and always off the wall. Even Ron Scott, who cultivates crazies to pad out his protests, dropped her. There is a sweet guy, Keith Hines, who will be behind this effort, too. He may be the brother. I do recognize his writing style here. He composes interminably-long manifestos [[the MC editor would have had to edit) that go on for pages and pages of important-sounding, but nonsensical, legalese.
Believe me- this is crack-pot stuff. Pretty much what you can expect from that rag.

One thing's for sure, Rick Snyder in the history books will be known as the lawsuit governor.

Why pay attention to these guys? They don't seem very insightful about the issue. Just angry.
