I wonder what they consider "Detroit". JUST in the city, or the burbs too? If it's just the city I would imagine that a lot of folks just plain don't have the money to be eating out. I mean come on, look at the difference in income per capita in Austin compared to Detroit. It's no contest who's going to be spending more eating out - not to mention the higher cost of living there.
The stats don't really tell me much. Too many variables.
