One bright spot in American/Detroit engineering that is recognized internationally is Corvette Racing's accomplishments over the past 10 years. The cars are actually designed and built by Pratt & Miller of New Holland, but I think Detroit can still be proud. P&M offer some very nice yearbooks for free via PDF download.
