It's no doubt a lot of cliche inhere. I don't live there but what can be confirmed as true in here?

Ahhh, I see there are words that get censored here. The word I typed at the end there is the name of an infamously well-known website that hosts pictures of this sort and is named after a weather phenomenon.
Incidentally, the first photo is of a painting by Kehinde Wiley that is indeed in the DIA. Whether you like his work or not, he's a Yale MFA and his work is in the collections of many major museums.

Pretty lousy.
Though I can vouch that "Fresh-squeezed Kool Aid" was, in fact, Detroit.
West 43rd and Robert "Go Hoe" corner was obviously not in Detroit, because our street signs are green.
The worst is the DIA. That is actually a really cool painting. It challenges our idea of heroism - we expect to see a white man on the white horse, when replaced with a contemporary, relatively common African-American man, well, look at the reaction. It all of a sudden becomes a joke. Why? I can tell you I serve in the military with African Americans and they are not a joke and they are as heroic and patriotic as the next man.
The Trick-or-Treating one is actually pretty hilarious, and it seems like something somebody here would do. Detroit is often so absurd you could actually make a funny non-racist page of oddities. I know I've seen enough here.

I do not know much about the other photos on that website, but several photos were a from the DetroitYes website. On July 1, 2012 I started the thread "Baby Zaia Death on Brinker Street."
In my thread I mentioned I read a comment from "Rex" on another thread about Centerline Fireworks shooting. There, Rex did a Google Earth drive down Brinker Street and saw a photo of a guy pointing a rifle/shotgun at the Google Earth camera car.
The story went nationwide and with so many hits the DetroitYes website went down for a short period of time
