Is anyone aware of a motorcycle repair shop that isn't too terribly far from Midtown? Rear brakes are out, so I can't go far.
Thanks!

I've talked to the folks at Inner City Motorcycle Repair at 7421 W Chicago, Detroit, MI 48204
[[313) 935-2453. Seemed like they knew what they were doing. Don't know if they are still around.
TriumphDetroit? Do you work on Hinckley Triumphs?
tompage, thanks for the tip. I called them [[their number is listed online) but it was disconnected.
Triumphdetroit, the bike is a 1980 Yamaha XS850 [[triple). I was able to fix the brakes today, but I do have a curious noise that needs diagnosis...
Hello Pcm;
You need to get on websites such as www.yamaha-triples.org or
http://www.bikez.com/msgboard/msg.ph...7595&type=bike
Get to know some other riders of the XS850 and pick their brain for repair tips and troubleshooting.
Royal Oak on Thursday nights is known as "Metric Night" [[it takes a metric wrench to fix it) and a lot of vintage bikes are in town. BTW, the V-twins show up on Wednesday nights. Anyway some of the guys in the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club [[VJMC) hang out on Third Street, just west of Main.

Nice weather always brings out more riders.
not so much in the downtown, Thundervalley Powersports in plymouth is run by Carl. he rides a vintage[[er) yamaha venture and often works on the older stuff that no one else will even let roll into their shop...
