Lol, they could not come out and say Tesla’s are made in China,they are made in Shanghai.

Elon Musk’s company went through a similar growth story in recent years. It invested heavily in a new plant in Shanghai that now accounts for the majority of its EV output.

Ford Motor Co. announced plans in September to spend $11.4 billion in Kentucky and Tennessee to build three battery factories and an EV facility.

The plant, dubbed “Project Tera,” requires an estimated 10,000 acres of land according to a revised economic development document seen by Reuters.

• The proposal calls for an initial investment of $5 billion and a 10,000-acre plot that would dwarf most factories, such as BMW's 1200-acre Spartanburg, South Carolina, plant.
• Rivian is currently considering building on land to the east of Mesa, Arizona, and CEO R.J. Scaringe has already held talks with the governor of Arizona, according to Reuters.

That article you posted about the assembly plant is a bit outdated.

Latest indications are that it will be landing in DFW [[no pun intended), as they have concerns about the talent pool and transportation infrastructure in Mesa, AZ. Also, it will only require 2,000 acres of land, similar to Tesla's plant in Austin.

Exactly. Michigan's days as an automobile manufacturing mecca are over. The land is too polluted, the unions too stubborn, and the politicians too greedy. Not to mention the kids coming out of Mesa's school system could probably run laps around the kids coming out of most of the schools in metro Detroit.

My experience with that region is that they regard anything publicly funded as a target to be defunded to extinction — except the police. So I wouldn't be so quick to praise Mesa schools.
