Event: 3rd Annual Taste the Season Wineries in Windsor-Essex County this weekend

Not sure how many have attended this today from 12-5pm, but this weekend just across the river [[you can still visit Sunday) is the third annual Taste the Season in Windsor-Essex where 13 local wineries will be participating and offering complimentary tastings, hors d'oeurves, tours and live entertainment. Join thirteen participating wineries from the Lake Erie North Shore Wine Region in southwestern Ontario will be providing an assortment of holiday cheer at their wineries this weekend. This is our opportunity to give back to the communities that have shown us so much support!

The Muscedere Family welcomes you to the annual SWOVA Holiday Open House. Admission is a canned good to be donated to local food banks. At Muscedere Vineyards, we will be offering free samples of all our white wines, red wines, and icewines, including our recently released award winning 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon and 2009 Pinot Noir! On the last weekend of November, visit Sprucewood Shores and other local wineries in the Lake Erie North Shore wine region for free tasting and food - Sprucewood will be doing a soup cook-off! All of this for the admission cost of a canned good to be donated to our local food banks. Shop for the holidays in our beautiful retail boutiques, enjoy live music, and join us in the celebration of the holidays!

I've been going to this part of Essex County all my life. Even if you missed this event, it's well worth going out there sometime. Perhaps particularly in the spring or summer. You should visit the wineries, pick up real locally grown fruits and vegetables at the many area farm stands, see the lake, and some very nice real small town like Harrow and Kingsville.
