The Danish Inn, The Shoebox

Hello Detroit,

I am wondering if anyone has any memory, anecdotes, information about a restaurant called the Danish Inn or a few shoe stores called the Shoebox- there may have been a half dozen or so during the 1960s.
The owner was my grandfather Nathan Slawin [[originally from St Louis) who died many years before I was born. Although both my parents are from Detroit they met in Chicago so the Detroit link is unraveling and I'm interested in learning more in order to share with my own children!
