The only other time it was natural green in there was during the World Cup round of sixteen and real grass was used. By chance I was at the game shown in the first picture with the Swiss flags when Switzerland defeated Romania in 1994.

Another classic story of some guy writing a fictitious narrative to fit the pictures starting with the stadium was left to rot due to the demise of Detroit and ending with the new owner being a potential savior - yeah like he had nothing to do with the dome's demise. Idiot!
The guy who took the pics and wrote the story obviously didn't do his homework. It's stories like these with little or no fact checking that can be a detrement to Detroit.
Truthfully I didn't read the article. The pictures were just spell-binding. I read a few sentences and dropped out.
