GREEKTOWN ROLLS THE DICE

A one arm bandit appears through a window in the former Trapper's Alley.

One of the great annual events of the old Greektown days was the Greektown Festival where Monroe Street was closed to cars and became crowded with thousands of partiers entertained by Greek music and belly dancers.   With the advent of Trapper's Alley that event was pushed into the riverfront Ethnic Festivals series where it lost its roots and eventually faded away.
