GREEKTOWN ROLLS THE DICE

The ancient wooden water tower of Greektown sports a fresh coat of paint and announces the Greektown Casino beneath.

Greektown came into vogue in the sixties.  It had flavor and zest, an unpretentious old country appeal where Greek music blared on the street and the Greek language was heard everywhere.  Its merchants did not flee in the post riot panic and suddenly the focus of the city fell upon this little community.  Here the battle for Detroit would be fought and won.
