Handball! The perfect game.  This is where you will find me all summer long.  The game is like Detroit, difficult and painful to learn, taking years to understand but richly rewarding and amazingly complex despite its seeming simplicity.

BYGONE
BELLE ISLE

The six excellent handball courts of Belle Isle set in a forest surround are an unsurpassed delight and form part of an amazing athletic complex on the island that includes tennis courts, baseball diamonds, a track, basketball courts, a cricket pitch and more.

Unfortunately, maintenance is barely adequate as wall cover protectors, such as seen at the right, have fallen away and gone unprepared for over two years exposing the walls to water damage, freezing and cracking.  Added to this is a leaking roof and a broken water fountain.
