Is that all high-quality Art Van furniture?
Oops! I'm afraid you just opened the door to another den of controversy.

For a 20 something year old shooter like "boater4life" with a 42 foot Viking, the $15,900,000 price should be no problem.

Had to look up a 42 foot viking to know what it was but wow, if you can afford one of those at any age that is impressive. I can't even afford a 2 foot viking.
Ooo, nice crib!!

anyone want to make a guess on the final sales price? I'm going to say 5.7 million. Hopefully Art's side piece was worth the expense of it all. Viagra is a hell of a drug.
JESUS H. CHRIST that's a lot of pastels. The interior looks like it was decorated by my grandmother circa 1991.
Considering the type of "design" you find at an Art Van, is it any surprise that the home looks like this?
The house looks straight out of "Dynasty", "Dallas" or "Falcon Crest".

Well, it was built in the early 90s by people with grandkids... so, pretty much spot on there.
Which would make it very era appropriate for it's construction. Planned in the late 80s with construction wrapping up in 91ish? its a 25 yr old time capsule

The exterior, and of course grounds, really are quite impeccable. That exterior front staircase looks decidedly out-of-place, though, sadly, as if the French Chateau style couldn't speak for itself, they had to slap on McMansion meets Roman monument steps out front just to scream "LOOK AT ME!" You'd really have to update most of the interior though. It looks like a dog got into an Easter basket and threw up everywhere.
Mr. Art I hear is a pretty charitable guy, and if he's happy and getting some tail, good for him. I've got an Art Van couch and it's pretty solid. Too bad we can't all be sitting in Louis XIV period pieces while on DetroitYes like lots of you hotshots who are too good for regular people furniture.
Art VanElslander has not lived in the house for several years. He now lives in Bloomfield Hills if I remember correctly. Also the price will be much lower that the estimates as the foundation of the house was not properly constructed.
thats rumor and myth.. the foundation on the place is fine and has never been a problem.......
When you have to go back for repeated repairs because the foundation is shifting there is a problem. So the myth is a reality.
I recall reading in the News or Freep that the house had leaking issues in the roof. This had to have been at least 12 years ago though. I recall the wife complaining about not being able to get good build quality. It seems as if the art of building a fine home has been lost.
sold for 3.7 million per rumors..... i was 1.2 mill off
