If and when the lot is someday occupied by a new business which provides a quality product as well as treating its service customers with respect, it will earn repeat business and thrive. THAT will be something to celebrate.

Places that provide the sort of treatment received by me and a few others above DESERVE to go out of business - that is what "free enterprise" is all about.

What is REALLY going to put this country in danger [[and truly is ALREADY contributing to its downfall) is this ongoing liberal entitlement attitude that just because someone fails, others should feel obligated to bail them out "just because."

    Agreed 100%.

And I'm sure you also agree that your net recipient state of Arizona owes net donor states like Michigan many billions, and will happily pay higher taxes to make up for this Socialist inequity, right?

You also agree to go without water in AZ, since you're stealing it from Colorado and Mexico, right?

And you agree that the housing implosion that has devastated your state much worse than anywhere else in the country is purely Arizonans fault, and you will not accept any further federal mortgage deductions, tax credits, or other housing industry supports?

One you agree to all these terms, I think we can take you halfway seriously. Until then, you're a bad joke howling from the parched desert moonscape.

No Crawford... you've got it all wrong!!! We've still got the 3rd richest county in the country [[Oakland)... REMEMBER???

So we don't need Arizona's money.... but I'm not sure what some discussion about water rights in the southwest has anything remotely to do with this thread...

I know I should just let this go, especially because it's not really Detroit related or related to the main topic of this thread, but I'm always thrown for a loop when I see this kind of statement. How is giving away money to corporations and failing big businesses a "liberal" entitlement scheme? Last I looked, the Republicans were the main pushers behind corporate welfare of all sorts. We just came out of an administration that spent 8 years increasing the federal deficit to record levels, with much of that spending going to favored businesses. Indeed, the big multi-jillion dollar bailout of failing Wall St. firms was begun under the Bush administration, and was done to save companies that had gorged themselves after being highly favored and enabled by the Republican administration.

It's not that I disagree with you about giving away the money, its that I think you've falsely ascribed who it is that's primarily responsible for doing the giving.
