    The city bought up tons of property and still owns a lot of it is my understanding but there still wasn't enough room to expand the runway. Total failure on the City's part.

    The neighborhood is essentially bounded between Van Dyke, Harper, Lynch, and Gratiot.

    Since 2008, the FAA's budget has increased about 30%, which is much faster than inflation. With all the consolidation the overall number of flights has decreased by 10%.

    So where's all that money going?

    Does airport security fall under FAA or is that Homeland Security, and a seperate entity?

    Construction projects.
