"IF" it were better [[the economy), Obama's socialist agenda would be doing the impossible. The only way it will improve is if, as it has in the past, the remaining free market elements can overcome the policies. Otherwise, the conservative backlash will be required to save us after we kick the liberals out [[10 and 12).

NO white folks are NOT fleeing 233 years of their blood sweat and tears of free nation we called the United States of America. Even we have a black president in office. Lots of white folks are treating Barack Obama like he is Nelson Mandela. Most White folks don't like what he's running the free world. But most people of color wanted change and social liberal reform so here is Obama. He will reform this great nation ours be "De-Bush-ilized" its conservative political structures; bringing forth pre-socialism in the U.S. government starting with health care to its work force.

You all white folks chose your black leader so deal with it. Most Black folks like him and so does Asians, Arabs, East Indians and Hispanics.

Praise Obama your 1st black President of United States of America.

    GOD BLESS HIM.

I like to start with statistics. Asian American voters supported Obama 3-1 in the election but I couldn't find a recent poll of their support. Nearly four out of five [[79 percent) of Asian Americans polled were foreign-born naturalized US citizens. They are concerned with medical care being made available to all irregardless of citizen status.

Among whites, Obama's strong approval rating has slipped from 61% after the election to 39% today although he only won 43% of white votes compared with 53% of the total vote. Obama's strong approval rating among non-whited has slipped from 80% to 73% now. "His approval among white Dems has fallen from 87% during the honeymoon, down to 76% now. By contrast, his approval among non-white Dems has actually gone up slightly, from 90% then to 92% now.". Support is still 91 percent among blacks and 70 percent among Hispanics. The sample for Asian Americans and Native Americans was too small to measure. Black and Hispanic support is also down in the last month to the tune of 3% compared to 5% for whites

in other words, as I have said all along, the biggest drop in his approval has been because he is not liberal enough.

Obama's strong approval rating has slipped from 61% after the election to 39% today although he only won 43% of white votes compared with 53% of the total vote
note: it is strong approval. hell, he never had strong approval from any actual liberals I know. he was adequate, but far too center-right/corporatist

FDR didn't fix his inherited mess...in one year...many of us voted for a person with aptitude to grow into the role and to try to reverse the corruption, and greed that eight years of Bush helped create...while reasonable people knows it takes time to reverse trends, only those whose agenda's transparency is opportunistic on Obama wanting to do the right thing was apparent the moment he took office [[remember the statement "healthcare will be his waterloo?)...

Those of us whites voted for a variety of reasons...personally and intellectually...I voted after researching and reading his books..and understanding his constitutional background...not how good he looks or if he can shoot a moose and have a folksy talk with us...

We all should have much bigger fish to fry than this.

Losing an election is an opportunity to display magnanimity. Wallowing in bitterness over the loss discards that opportunity in exchange for the price that will be paid.

An attorney once gave me this advice: "If losing is too painful, why keep playing?" Attorneys may catch a lot of flack but I must give credit when they offer wise advice.
    A) It is the title that was used in the article I linked. I didn't create or change the title.
    B) This is the Non-Detroit section of the Detroit forum.
    C) You're not arguing with me. [[i.e.: I didn't ask why Retroit was trolling, I know why he's trolling. I asked why people were arguing with the troll)
    D) We're on a forum, what fish are we frying?
    E) Continue on, this thread has become quite enlightening!

Indeed. Who would have expected President Obama to end the Iraq War overnight. In 2007 he was campaigning saying, "When I am elected President, I will end the war. That is the first thing I will do. You can take that to the bank."
Obama Promise To End The War, 2007 - "You Can Take That To The Bank"

Hold off on going to the bank. It's too bad White guy Michael Moore is being so impatient. He still wants to support President Obama but is getting disillusioned. He wrote a letter to the President yesterday. Moore wrote, " With just one speech tomorrow night you will turn a multitude of young people who were the backbone of your campaign into disillusioned cynics. You will teach them what they've always heard is true -- that all politicians are alike. I simply can't believe you're about to do what they say you are going to do. Please say it isn't so."
An Open Letter to President Obama from Michael Moore

Is Michael Moore is representative of the disappointed white anti-war crowd contrasted with Black Americans who seem more ok with President Obama breaking this campaign promise while simultaniously adding over 60,000 troops in Afghanistan?

Michael Moore should be Obama's biggest concern...HELLO!! look around you, at the economy, at Afghanistan, at Health care.....Obama is destroying the fabric of our society.
