If they are ‘for sale’ why fire the GM and HC? They are under contract and will get paid regardless. Replacements will now have to be hired in January adding to the overhead. Businesses don’t look to add liability if a sale is imminent.

No one is going to buy the losing Detroit Lions. The Ford Family will keep the bad luck team until they feel like selling the team.
What befuddles me is why in God's name does any person pay money to attend a Lions game?
Lions have waved Marvin Hall? Seems like another typical foolish move.
News flash from Florida, a Christmas miracle!!!!
Misery loves company. . . .[[includes all the social media idiots currently recommending: Rex Ryan, Ken Whisenhunt, Bill Parcells, Chris Spielman, Mike Ditka, Matt Stafford, Jim Swartz, Tony Dungy, Peyton Manning, etc. to become the next GM or HC)???

Wayne Fontes is long gone.
This story was picked up by every news outlet in the country. It's not like there's a pandemic or anything else important to worry about. Just when you thought Mich. politics and politicians weren't screwed up enough. At least it's bi-partisan stupidity I guess.

I have to agree with don here. This example illustrates the disfunction in Lansing. Always thinking they need to be involved picking who the winner will be. They can not even let a private sector job opening play out without sticking their nose in where it doesn’t belong. This story was picked up by every news outlet in the country. Lions 'Bear'ly beat the Bad News Bears
Lions 34
Bears 30
5-7
Twelve down four to go.
At least Matty Patty is finding another job as a Pop Warner football coach.
Wayne Fontes? Didn't leprechauns leave cocaine in his car?
Maybe but I guess it doesn't matter now, we're a more "enlighten" culture today in 2020!!!!!!!
History tends to repeat itself. . ...
After the disastrous 13-29 performance from "rookie" HC Matt Patricia, Lions Owner should not forget other "rookies" w/No HC experience who also tanked the club:
Rod Marinelli: took over in 2006 and went 3-13. After a forgotten 7-9 showing in 2007, one of the more memorable seasons in NFL history commenced. By the end of the '08 slate -- the NFL's first 0-16 result -- the Lions had none of the three top-10 wideouts they drafted under Millen on their team, and Marinelli's defense allowed an NFL-worst 517 points.
Marty Mornhinweg: Prior to Mornhinweg's 2001 Detroit arrival, the Lions went 9-7 and had made the playoffs six times in the previous 10 years. Mornhinweg started 0-12 in a season that featured a seven-INT game from QB Stoney Case, the first-year head coach deferring an OT coin toss [[back when the NFL featured a true sudden-death format) in a loss in Chicago, and a brief Johnnie Morton-Jay Leno feud. The Lions drafted Joey Harrington a year later, but after a 3-13 season brought Mornhinweg's record to 5-27, he was not deemed worthy to groom the ex-Oregon star.
Marvin Hall was immediately picked up off waivers by the 9-3 Cleveland Browns.
Yea, no surprise after getting rid of Tate, Diggs, Slay, etc. . ....former wack-job regime determined scheme was a higher priority than talent? Appears temporary regime is just as inept.
They should sit Stafford for the remainder of the year. Nothing to play for now. They’re going to need him next season, I can’t see them magically coming up with a better QB then him. They are going to be shooting for a playoff spot next year - right?
It might take at least two offseasons to overhaul that mess of a defense. Trey Flowers, Tracy Walker, and Jeff Okudah [[when he hopefully makes the jump many corners make in their second and third years) are about the only guys I could envision as starting level talent on a competitive team. They legit need to replace every single linebacker on the roster.
Oh sigh! Same ole' Detroit losing Lions!!! Became victims of Aaron Rodger's pack attack!
Packers 31
Lions 24
5-8
Thirteen down three to go.
Bad Luck Stafford may broke his weak ribs! He maybe done this year [[again!) In fact get rid of him. Matter of fact retire! He's a jinx!
The Bobby Layne Curse continues.

Stafford is actually one of the best QB's in the league; he just doesn't have a team or coach to play with. He's also one of the toughest and plays hurt a lot. They need to get him a line before they kill him.
Stafford may be all of those things but at least he can add 5 & 8.Oh sigh! Same ole' Detroit losing Lions!!! Became victims of Aaron Rodger's pack attack!

.... and that's the reason Stafford must leave the Detroit Lions before the next season will get very ugly!
Anyone wants to buy the Detroit Lions?
